Skills For a Lifetime

The Skills For a Lifetime Program was established for children to create a greater level of self-confidence in various social situations.


"Each of us feels a sense of accomplishment and pride when we have handled ourselves well in any given situation."


What is the Skills for a Lifetime Program? The skills for a lifetime program is an educational experience that, once completed, can provide an improved level of self-confidence. Children want to know what is expected of them and this course will provide a framework for their future.

This course teaches young people important dining and social skills, which can play a large part in their social development.


The Skills for a Lifetime program is taught in a relaxed home environment. This lets everyone learn in a less stressful space in order to go out in public with confidence.

Curriculum Part I

Introductions, Greetings, The Knife & Napkin

Table Conversation & The Spoons

Formal Dining Practices & The Forks

Casual Dining Practices,Telephone Skills & Thank You Notes

Review & Discussion with Parents

Minimum 2 students.


Curriculum Part II

Part II is taught in separate classes for boys and girls.

Minimum 3 students. This course is offered by request.


The girls' curriculum is as follows:

Introductions & Self Confidence in New Situations

Self Presentation (Poise and Posture)

Phone Etiquette & Thank You Notes

"How To Make Your Parents Love You" (Respect and Courtesy)

"What do I do With all These Forks?" (Table Etiquette & Place Settings)


The boys' curriculum is as follows:

There is also a Part III course available, it is geared towards students in grades 10-12. This set of classes focuses on topics like dating, public speaking and interviewing. This class is available by request. Use the Contact Us link on the left to get more information.
